Debutantprisen

Kandidater til Trøndelagsutstillingens Debutantpris er kunstnere som deltar på utstillingen for første gang. Mottakeren får et stipend på kr. 10.000. I tillegg vil personen motta utstillingsplass ved Kjøpmannsgata Ung Kunst (K.U.K) neste år. I år er det fem debutanter og prisen ble delt ut av Mishi Foltyn, styreleder for Trøndelag Bildende Kunstnere (TBK), som gjør utvelgelsen sammen med kunstfaglig ansvarlig ved K.U.K., Cathrine Hovdahl Vik og en representant fra kunstfaglig råd i TBK. Formålet er å løfte fram unge kunstnerskap.

Mottaker av Debutantprisen 2024 er Ingunn Milly Hansen for sitt tekstilarbeid «Rød #3» (2024).

Begrunnelse:

Tekstilarbeidet er laget av nylonsnorer farget ved hjelp av ikat-teknikken, viser tydelig at Ingunn Milly Hansen er en særdeles dyktig kunstner. Arbeidets presisjon og nyanser, som både refererer til kunsthistorien og understreker viktigheten av teknikk i kunstproduksjon, skaper et sterkt inntrykk ved inngangen til utstillingen.

«Rød #3» utgjør et abstrakt uttrykk for å ta inn verden i all sin rikdom og mangfold. Det demonstrerer nøyaktig hva det betyr å være kunstner – å se, å oppleve, å føle, å reflektere og å skape. Å ta inn og å trekke ut. Resultatet er et tilgjengelig verk: estetisk, kontrollert og historisk. Men det inneholder så mye mer, som kan oppdages med litt nysgjerrighet. Ikat betyr ‘å binde’ på indonesiske språk. Det er en gammel metode for resistensfarging, der garn bindes før farging og deretter veves for å danne det endelige arbeidet.

Debutantprisen inkluderer et stipend og en fremtidig utstilling ved Kjøpmannsgata Ung Kunst. I anerkjennelse av kvaliteten, ferdighetene og profesjonaliteten som ligger i verket Rød #3, er det for oss en glede å kunne overrekke Debutantprisen til Ingunn Milly Hansen.

Debutant Award (ENG)

The Debutant Award is given to one of the artists who participate in the exhibition for the first time. The prize recipient receives a grant of NOK 10.000. In addition, the prize recipient will be given an opportunity to present an exhibition at Kjøpmannsgata Ung Kunst (K.U.K) next year.

This year, there are five debutants, and the award was presented by Mishi Foltyn, Chair of Trøndelag Bildende Kunstnere (TBK). The selection was made in collaboration with Cathrine Hovdahl Vik, the Artistic Director at K.U.K., and a representative from the TBK Artistic Council. The purpose is to highlight emerging artistic talents.

The recipient of the Debutant Award 2024 is Ingunn Milly Hansen for her «Rød #3» (2024).

Woven from nylon cords dyed using the ikat technique, it is clear Ingunn Milly Hansen is an immensely proficient artist. The precision and nuance of the work, both alluding to the art historical cannon and framing the importance of technique in art making, make a high impact entrance into the exhibition.

“Rød #3” forms an abstracted expression of taking in the world in all of its richness and diversity. It precisely demonstrates what it means to be an artist – to see, to experience, to feel, to contemplate and to produce. To take in and to draw out. The result is an accessible work: aesthetic, controlled, and historical. But it contains so much more, drawn out with a little curiosity.

Ikat means ‘to bind’ in Indonesian languages. It is an ancient method of resist dyeing, where yarn is tied and bound before dyeing and then woven to form the final work. The debutant award comes with 10.000 NOK and a future exhibition at Kjøpmannsgata Ung Kunst. In recognition of the quality, skill, and professionalism inherent in the work “Rød #3”, it is our pleasure to present the Debutant Award 2024 to Ingunn Milly Hansen.
