Transformasjon utforsker kroppens kontinuerlige forandring gjennom livets ulike

faser. Skulpturen fremstiller en hybrid skapning med menneskelignende kropp

og et fiskelignende hode.Jeg ville skape et vesen som både er gjenkjennelig og fremmed. Med sine fiskelignende trekk knytter verket kroppen til en flytende tilstand, formet av tid og livets bevegelser. Verket kan således tolkes som en utforskning av grensene mellom menneske og dyr, det kjente og det fremmede, men også aldring, overgang og kvinnelighet.

BIO

Lisbeth Vågøy (f. 1956, Namsos) bor og arbeider i Fredrikstad. Hun er selvlært keramisk kunstner og vokste opp i Grong i Trøndelag. Nå bor og jobber hun i Fredrikstad, hvor hun har drevet eget keramikkverksted i 20 år. Hun har deltatt på en rekke utstillinger og er representert i flere gallerier i Norge.

Transformation explores the body’s continuous process of change through the different phases of life. The sculpture depicts a hybrid creature with a human-like body and a fish-like head. I wanted to create a being that is both recognisable and unfamiliar. Through its fish-like features, the work connects the body to a state of fluidity, shaped by time and the movements of life. The work can therefore be interpreted as an exploration of the boundaries between human and animal, the familiar and the unfamiliar, as well as themes of ageing, transition, and femininity.

BIO

Lisbeth Vågøy (b. 1956, Namsos) lives and works in Fredrikstad. She is a self-taught ceramic artist and grew up in Grong, Trøndelag. She now lives and works in Fredrikstad, where she has run her own ceramics studio for 20 years. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and is represented in several galleries in Norway.
