I Gå varsamt, här vilar en dröm utforsker jeg tradisjoner innen tekstil, tapetsering og ulike former for maleri, og hvordan jeg kan arbeide med dette romlig. Der ett verk slutter, tar det neste over, og slik oppstår en føljetong. Et maleri blir til et repetitivt mønster i en tekstil, som igjen antar form av en tapet i en installasjon, eller får prøve seg som skulptur.

Jeg er interessert i tekstilens fleksibilitet og evne til å anta ulike formater og skikkelser. Dette åpner for å arbeide med og ut fra det spesifikke rommet verket skal vises i. I Kullbingen viser arbeidet seg som et stedsspesifikt ornament, eller som et arkitektonisk bindeledd som harmonerer, understreker eller bryter med omgivelsene og rommets betingelser.

BIO

Anna Liljekrantz (f. 1987, Göteborg)bor og arbeider i Göteborg. Hun har bachelorgrad fra Kunsthøgskolen i Bergen og arbeider med oljemaleri, tekstil og installasjon. Praksisen hennes er utforskende og prosessorientert, preges av gjentakelser og forskyvninger, og med interesse for ulike materialers iboende potensial, foranderlighet og elastisitet.

In Tread softly, here lies a dream, I explore traditions within textiles, tapestry, and various forms of painting, and how these practices can be approached spatially. Where one work ends, the next begins, creating a continuous sequence. A painting becomes a repetitive pattern in a textile, which in turn takes the form of wallpaper in an installation, or is transformed into a sculptural element.

I am interested in the flexibility of textiles and their ability to take on different formats and forms. This opens up possibilities for working with and from the specific space in which the work is presented. In Kullbingen, the work appears as a site-specific ornament, or as an architectural connection that harmonises with, emphasises, or disrupts its surroundings and the conditions of the space.

BIO

Anna Liljekrantz (b. 1987, Gothenburg) lives and works in Gothenburg. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design and works with oil painting, textiles, and installation. Her practice is exploratory and process-oriented, characterised by repetition and displacement, with an interest in the inherent potential, mutability, and elasticity of different materials.
